Memorial Award
The John W. Schwartz Memorial Award is presented each year at the Appreciation Banquet held in March. Members of Barlow Volunteer Fire Department including the auxiliary may submit the name of an Life Member, living or deceased, whom they feel should be considered for this award to the "Memorial Award Committee" in writing stating their reasons for consideration. The nominees are judged on those who have attained the classification of Life Member and overall faithful and devoted service which exemplifies those qualities shown by John W. Schwartz. The "Memorial Award Committee" (consists of the three trustees of the Barlow Volunteer Fire Company) will study each name and resume submitted verifying all information and will make the final decision of the nominees whom closes exemplifies the qualities listed above. The John W. Schwartz Memorial Award remains a secret until the actual presentation of the Award at the Appreciation Banquet.
